Stephen Mein, MD

Dr. Mein is a Faculty Physician Investigator at the Center for Health Policy at the Smith Institute, pulmonary and critical care physician at BIDMC and an Instructor in Medicine at HMS. He completed medical school at the University of Virginia, Internal Medicine residency at BIDMC, fellowship at the Harvard Combined Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship, and postdoctoral research training at the Smith Center for Outcomes Research. Dr. Mein’s research leverages large survey and administrative data and causal inference methods to understand the intersections of health policy, care delivery, and clinical outcomes for patients with pulmonary conditions, with a particular focus on asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
